TIME FOR SOME ESCAPISM, RIGHT?
It’s A L M O S T Spring! Not quite, but it’s almost here! I know we have needed the rain and cooler weather, but I’m literally thinking about ESCAPISM, (or maybe it’s Spring Breakism), right now! Doesn’t a warm, sandy (dry) spot sound good today? But for now, I’m just about ready to spend time at my beloved piano, thinking about the upcoming nights of ESCAPISM – the performances that is – that are coming up for our […]
OH WHAT WONDERFUL SUPPORT! WE LOVE IT! THANK YOU!
Thank you, thank you to radio, streaming, music services and playlists everywhere around the world for your support for our album. We love and appreciate your support! ESCAPISM RADIO REVIEWS “The stark beauty and flowing movement of the (Mojave Moon video) images could hardly suit the music better.” Nate Chinen/WBGO MELTDOWN from ESCAPISM was featured December 2017 on the popular State of Jazz Playlist/SPOTIFY “Hilton is superb as usual. Clear ideas and fine dexterity.” Modern Jazz Today – syndicated “I […]
SO MUCH FUN IN NYC!
With JD Allen, Luques Curtis and Rudy Royston at Carnegie Hall in NYC – photos by Justin Bettman Hi There! It was great to see friends last week in NYC! Thank you to all who made it to our show last Thursday at Carnegie Hall – that was so much fun! (Yes I’m planning something for next January too!) We all enjoyed it – it was my favorite band show I have ever done, and we had a bit of audience […]
Wonderful Reviews for “Day & Night” CD!
REVIEWS FOR DAY & NIGHT “Closer scrutiny reveals nuanced choices and numerous unforeseen turns. Hilton, brings an emotionalism to the simplest of ideas; layers of depth appear when you least expect them.” Jeff Tamarkin/Jazz times “Fantastic new CD from Lisa Hilton. We love her version of Begin The Beguine.” Toppy Jazz the #1 Jazz Station in Europe “Solo piano jazz…Lisa Hilton owns this art brilliantly: soft touch, subtle but very significant swing, a deep connection with the jazz tradition – […]
It’s definitely Spring Time! In fourth grade I went on a field trip to collect wildflowers and just fell in love with them! So spring time is wildflower time for me: today I headed 2 hours north of Los Angeles to the Antelope Valley Poppy Preserve, which I’ve never visited before. What a great spot and a refreshing day. Really fun! You can see more photos on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lisahiltonmusic/ Thank you to everyone who came out to see the performances […]
THANK YOU RADIO EVERYWHERE FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
I just wanted to SHOUT a very grateful THANK YOU RADIO for your incredible support for DAY & NIGHT. I was composing for this last spring right after I broke my shoulder (all recovered now), and so there is an extra sense of thankfulness that this album is connecting so well with listeners in this tumultuous year we’re having so far. I do think it’s very healing music. Let me know if I’ve missed anyone, ok? Thank you for your […]
Hope you might be able to come to one of these….
Hi there! Carnegie Hall was SO much fun. The piano was in excellent shape, the acoustics in Mrs. Carnegie’s former “salon” are perfect, and there was a really warm and enthusiastic audience to the new music from DAY & NIGHT. So many people braved the chilly 20 degrees to come out – many of them friends – and we had a really great time. There are a few more performance dates – if you missed the Carnegie show, (or […]
